The paintings are made with pure pigments mixed in the studio to give purity and intensity of colour. They are mostly on heavy rough-pressed Sanders Waterford paper, 356 g/m2, and up to 1 metre in width. Larger panels of 1.5 metres x 2 metres or more have been made on heavy Fabriano water-colour paper or gesso-ground heavy rolls. The drawings are made on rough-pressed 190 g/m2 paper with black Chinese ink and gold ink. The artist's books are made in accordion format on Indian hand-made paper and boxed in custom-made linen boxes.
